Monday Moment- Smart Phone Recovery

Hey Spirit Scholars!

Let’s just jump right in shall we?

I do not think I did the best this week with the smart phone :/

BUT I was very aware of every time I had the smart phone and how long I was actively using it. Previously many times I used it without a second thought, habitually and/or mindlessly.  So I would say conscious usage is a step in the right direction.

I had the Space app to help me out but it was annoying and now I am just using RealizD, which I think is a much better app and better fit. It captures your daily use and your weekly use so I will show you guys next week the results with a screen capture.

Before this self-imposed challenge I had no idea of what was normal smart phone usage.  I am still not completely sure but I am going to do a little digging.  The Space app said most Americans spend more than 4+ hours at least on their phone. Guys I am going to tell you I am way over that just because of everything I use my phone for.  Which brings me to another point.  I do not know how practical it is for me to NOT use my phone (says very addict on earth ever- lol!). But really, I use it to work out, for music, for audiobooks, for entertainment, to sign in to my coaching lessons in business and language, as a timer, as an alarm.  Seriously.  But I now am AWARE of this and now just how dependent I have become to this thing.  The space app said they had been successful in getting people from over 4 hours a day to around 2 hours a day.  That sounds like it should make sense and that it should be a worthy goal but…

Also, I noticed that instead of using my phone in the cases where I was determined not to, I turned to my laptop and I began taking my laptop places it had never gone before!

It’s a problem and its about more than the smart phone and slowly but surely I am starting to acknowledge more and more of what it is…

Stick around as I conquer this issue one day and discovery at a time and watch me win!  Better yet, JOIN ME!  I KNOW I am not alone. 🙂

Remember, I love me and you,

SHONA
